High School Senior Scholarship

RCMGA will award two $1,000.00 scholarships each year. Those eligible for one of the scholarships are high school seniors from Richland, Fairfield, or Kershaw counties who have been accepted into a two- or four-year program and plan to major in horticulture, a horticulture-related field, or agriculture. The deadline for completed applications is May 1 for applications to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Scholarship winners will receive a check for $1,000.00 at the RCMGA June Gala unless circumstances require otherwise.

Complete and return all requirements of the application by May 1.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:

List your career-related projects and programs, awards, certifications, and work experience.

PERSONAL ESSAY:

Attach a 500 word essay describing your interest in horticulture or a related field. Explain how you would use that knowledge to improve the world around you. Your signature below certifies this was not written by you, and not by another person, AI, etc.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:

Attach copies of two letters of recommendation. One must be from a teacher at your high school or college/technical school/university and the other from a non-related mentor (e.g., extracurricular advisor, coach, counselor, employer, minister, scout or FFA leader, etc.), preferably on letterhead.
