Continuing Education Opportunities

As a Master Gardener, you are required to meet the minimum annual requirement for attending or viewing accreditable continuing education training (10 hours of continuing education plus 20 hours of educational service). That just means you are really incentivized to do what you already want to do. Below are some continuing education opportunities to you learn more about gardening and pass it along! Carolina Yards

Next Class is spring 2026. The Carolina Yards Hybrid Course is a 10-week online and self-paced course designed to provide information and techniques to help you create and maintain a more environmentally friendly landscape. The course will go over the Twelve Carolina Yards Principles focused on water conservation, wildlife habitat, soil health and reduced chemical inputs.

Master Rain Gardener

Master Rain Gardener is a certification program focused on rain garden and rainwater harvesting system design and installation. The Master Rain Gardener (MRG) program will provide design standards and the knowledge-based skill set necessary to install rain gardens and rainwater harvesting systems on a residential scale.

Backyard Wildlife Habitat Short Course

Participants in this course will learn the basic principles of creating and establishing a wildlife habitat in their own backyard. This free on-line course will cover topics that includes basic needs for your garden, food, shelter, water, and space requirements that are needed for attracting wildlife.

Mulches, The Good, The Bad, and the Really, Really Ugly
